We, at Nida Trust believe that it is essential to regenerate skilled people in order to ensure sustainability. To do that, we will encourage young people from the different communities, particularly the BME communities to attend courses on the following topics:
- First Aid
- Coaching courses
- Youth Leadership course
- Refereeing courses
We hope, the above courses will enable young people to develop relevant skill and knowledge for them to progress further and at the same time contribute more to their respective community.
Tours
To promote sport amongst young people, Nida Trust will organise tours to different sporting venues and institutions to give the young youngsters the opportunity to see and experience how these multi – million pounds organisations operate. The main purpose of these tours is to educate the young people that there is more to sport than just playing a game. These tours will expose the young people to the following;
- They will see how these organisations promote themselves to their target audience
- How they raise funds
- How they work with the local communities
- How they manage their finances
Competitions
Nida Trust will hold competitions in football and cricket to promote teamwork, competition, excellence, respect, tolerance and social cohesion. These competitions are opened to young people from 11 – 17years of age. Furthermore, these competitions will help to promote and create an awareness of the importance of participating in sporting activities, particularly within the BME communities.
Seminars
To promote the importance of taking up sports to improve the health and social well – being, Nida Trust will undertake a range of services to encourage those communities that are hard to reach. Seminars will be offered in state and independent schools, community and faith centres.
Annual conference
To give a national focus, Nida Trust will organise conferences to deal with sports and how it can relate to the wider society
