Nida Trust media department has the following projects in progress:
The Technological Revolution is often described as the second industrial revolution, and has had a huge impact on the way in which information is accessed. Media institutions are able to use this as a means of making even the most ‘silent of voices’ heard through the ‘distance of land’.
We at Nida Trust aim to promote such advances to the youth of today and make their voices heard. With structured training programmes, workshops and hands on experience from industry professionals such as Bloomberg, ITV and BBC, they will be able to talk about the issues that affect them and promote their technological skills through the best means possible i.e. Media.
The impact of these projects will enable them to grow in confidence, developing their leadership skills and interest whilst having equal opportunities at gaining professional placements. We endeavour to give the disadvantaged youth an equal footing to those of their counterparts and provide them with a step in the right direction.
A sure sign of a civilised society is that it prioritises Arts and Culture. At Nida Trust we encourage events which celebrate the culture of ethnic minorities. We are also eager to develop projects that promote young artists.
Nida Trust, through its projects, will aim to provide:
-
A platform for the community to develop the awareness of different cultures, lives, philosophies, etiquettes etc, so that they learn to appreciate each other.
-
Opportunities to develop people in the field of media, arts and culture.
-
Opportunities for the community to get involved and actively participate in media and cultural events.
We hope that targeted projects will enable different communities to work together in the field of Arts & Culture. We will focus on two main areas:
- Awareness – Nida Trust will organise seminars, workshops, conferences and exhibitions to ensure that people develop an understanding of the various communities living in Britain.
-
Development – Our projects will attempt to develop people in gaining skills and knowledge of Media, Arts & Culture so that they have greater opportunities. We believe that it is important for all of us to understand the beliefs and other people so that we are better informed to contribute towards a more cohesive community.
Workshops
Media Workshops comprise of training within two elements of Digital Video Production known in the media industry as Pre-Production and Post - Production. Pre-Production process includes Research, Script writing, Storyboarding, Camera, Sound and Lighting, whereas the Post Production process includes more computer based training such as Video Editing, Graphics Design, Visual Effects and Special effects.
These workshops are predominantly 2-3hrs long combining theory with practical. They are delivered at a basic level and depending on student’s level of technical understanding the programme is altered to cater for any differences. In addition to this, the course is designed for duration of upto 6-8weeks and comprises of (as indicated on the flow chart below) a series of workshops leading to a final production of a documentary. The subject on the documentary is based around current affairs and in particularly relating to issues surrounding the youths. Through this documentary they will demonstrate to us their technical competence skills as well as awareness of issues and how best to convey their message in a creative manner. The outcome of the video will be used as a portfolio for them to seek work placements as well as distribute the product to other Voluntary sectors for educational purposes.

Outcome for Students
The course has been designed to cater for youths particularly from disadvantaged and or socially excluded background. Our main objectives through these courses will be to develop their Technical skills, interpersonal skills as well as confidence in team building and leadership skills. As indicated in the flowchart below, the main outcome will be to provide the students with a prospect of a brighter future and we will ensure that we try our best to place them in industries for work placements where possible.
Our priority lies with the students and therefore in every step of the way we will work with other departments within Nida Trust to best cater for their development. We will also ensure upon completion of our course that they continue to develop and never demise in confidence to fulfill their aspirations.

Services
Our aim is to work closely with other organisations and share ideas to achieve our ultimate goal as a charitable organisation. We have developed an in house media team that can provide the following services;
- Event Filming
- Media Workshops
- Setting up of Media Courses
- Producing Promotional Video.
We will work with all voluntary sectors to establish media courses so that they too can take full advantage of our expert knowledge and experiences.
Our ultimate goal is to eradicate any form of grim reality faced by the youths of today in order to provide them with a prospect of a brighter future and also a civilized society. This can only be achieved through a good working relationship with our associates and partners. We therefore aim not to restrict ourselves to small minority organisations but expand ourselves by providing services to different faith schools, supplementary schools and any organisation that contributes to the betterment of our community.
